Who are the eligible candidates for receiving a fellowship?Candidate selection process is established jointly by Bangladesh Alumni Foundation and the receiving university. A candidate must fulfill the admission criteria of the unversity, demonstrate a clear financial need beside indicating strong potential in, but not limited to, academic, non-academic or other competitive areas. For example, a candidate may exhibit potential in one or more, but not limited to, of the following areas: Research Potential: Research, publications, inventions, discovery, etc. Competitive Potential: Accomplishments/active engagement in non-sports, but academic competitions e.g. programming contests, debate, hackathon; participation in Olympiads such as Math, Physics, Computer etc.; national or international Engineering, Business, Social or Humanities competitions. Leadership Potential: Positive and meaningful public appearance or leadership, e.g. organizer of well known institutional, academic or charitable events; leadership history for a positive organization or cause. Entrepreneurial Potential: Founder of a business or interesting business concept; history of risk-taking towards establishing a positive business or an institution. The success of the endeavor is not necessary, but the entrepreneurial trait is.

Where do I apply for this scholarship ?Bangladesh Alumni Foundation establishes this scholarship program jointly with the receving universities. The individual university organizes the logistics of the scholarship program, including collecting applications. Currently, we are collaborating with North South University for this scholarship; please contact the Financial Aid office of North South University.

Does your organization support gift matching of my organization?We are 501(c)(3) which makes us eligible for most gift-matching programs. However, it is best to discuss with your organization about our eligibility for their gift-matching criteria.

Are the donations tax-deductible?Bangladesh Alumni Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, and holds a tax exemption status from IRS and FTB. We will provide receipts for your donations which may be used to claim deductions while filing for taxes.

Is my transaction secure?Anyone involved with processing, transmission, or storage of card data must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). We do not store any card information and rely on PayPal to process transaction. PayPal's encryption help keeps your online transactions guarded from start to finish.

Why are you named Bangladesh Alumni Foundation (BdAF)?BdAF is a 501(c)(3) organization and there may be multiple fellowship programs under it. For now, the first fellowship will run exclusively for North South University (NSU), but the vision is much broader than that for the future.
